I have been experimenting with pasta lately, whole-wheat, quinoa, sprouted (Ezekiel) all worked for my children. If you are more cautious, you can mix them up though. My children have become fond of the green pastas. Boil the pasta according to the instructions (for quinoa you will have to add olive oil to the water), add pesto and sprinkle with other magic upgraders such as pine nuts. This will get me out of a rut when the fridge is empty and I need to make dinner from what is in the pantry (for example after we return home from travel or a very long day).
