Traveling Snacks

I often travel with my children on airplanes to visit our family, and this helped to boil down the snacks to the easiest on the body. My older child gets nauseated when we land nine time zones away early in the morning for our biological clock, so we experimented with what to eat before and during the flight. The winners are:

When snacking takes place outside your home it is harder to control what your children eat, just like when eating out. So it is of bigger importance to bring along your own. Lisa Barnes in Petit Appetit explains that you can name your healthy homemade snack pizza, nuggets, or fries. These words have good connotations for children, so if you cut something in a strip and call it "fry" your child is more likely to try it.
